Policy and Development Committee

The Ohio LEAD Program is advised by a broad-based statewide Policy and Development Committee appointed by the Vice President of Agriculture at The Ohio State University.

The function of the Committee is to recommend to the Program Director basic policies on the program’s operation, including sponsorship, budget, endowment, marketing, participant criteria and selection, fees, curriculum, and evaluation. The committee chair and the chairs of the sub-committees comprise the executive committee, which oversees projects and makes policy recommendations to the board.

The Committee also helps promote the program and assist in the procurement of short term and long range funding.

Members are appointed for three-years and represent industry, alumni, organizations and the university. The committee has at least 16 and no more than 22 members representing a cross-section of agriculture, related businesses, alumni and industry.

At least two meetings are held each year.
